It's Messy before it's Clean

Cookies aren't necessarily a clean activity.

I mean, I make a mess when I bake.

Before, I would try to keep all clean and neat but I spent more time washing my hands and running to the sink that cookies took forever.

Now I realize that sometimes you've got to let it be messy before it can be clean and pretty again.

See...

All so I can make this frosting.

Anyone want to come clean my kitchen?

I'd been seeing a lot of GREAT 4th of July cookies and got the itch to do some of my own.

Good for me. Bad for you.

Mainly because I forgot to take pictures.

Well "forgot" is the wrong word to use.

I got lazy and had already started decorating but kept thinking to myself "go get the camera Annie" yet I just kept on decorating.

Sorry.

And now you'll see how lazy I really was.  I made more cookies than just stars and hearts.

I made cookies in the shapes of the United States, circle cookies both for fireworks and happy 4th wishes, and little number 4 cookies.

These are going to each both my work and my husbands office for everyone to enjoy!
