Go Big Red...and Welcome Back

Family friends asked me to make some cookies for a gathering they were having for an uncle who would be back in town this weekend.  So I made up a combo of cookies that were Husker athletic themed and "We love Gene." 

Totally normal.

So here's what I ended up with.

Well this is what I started with...and you saw yesterday.

From what I heard (via an email) they loved them.

And they said they tasted good too.

That's nice to hear.

It's sports week here.  Still.

Hey, it's fall and that's what happens in the fall.

So take a quick peek at what sports themed cookies are heading out our door this week.

Both for the University of Nebraska fans...one for the UNL (Lincoln campus) and the other for UNO (the Omaha campus).

GBR

This past Saturday kicked off the 2012 Husker Football Season and like any good fan we were there.

And we had a tailgate.

And I brought cookies.

Oh and GBR stands for "Go Big Red" for anyone who's a non-Husker native.

Back to cookies.

I had searched online for inspiration and found some.  Only now I can't remember where they came from.  But I did not dream up this idea myself.  I apologize that I can't give credit where credit is due. 

At all.

I just executed it.

Dave wasn't quite sure what the brown ones were going to be when he saw them on the counter last week.

I wasn't able to take finished pictures before I took them to the tailgate.  So I just snapped some shots of the cookies relaxing at the tailgate party waiting to be enjoyed.
